    termiantion of parental rights

When do you believe a parent should loose their parental rights?   I do not believe a parent should be allowed the right to their children with a conviction of child abuse.....and especially when the state sends them to prison and does not offer any type of rehabilitation for the individual charged.  Unfortunately, many states do not offer rehabilitation for convicted felons and it is a serious problem.  Just like the State of Florida  did not terminate parental rights for my X and the State offers no programs for rehabilitation......this is definately a problem in Florida and many other states.  I do think this is unjust!

I cannot believe the state of Florida did not help with terminating the father's rights to those children....I do not understand why ......you would think they would follow what is best for the children and not subject them to anymore abuse.   Your case is very interesting .......don't give up!!!!

    hi Jodi,

I do not think your X should have rights to those kids......I read your story and I cannot believe that any man would tell his children to kill their mom.  It is crazy .......I hope that you and your family are doing better .....My wife and I plan to watch the Montel show ......take care.

Jodi..isn't it a shame that people convicted of Grand theft auto wind up doing more community service and sometimes more time than child abusers??? ISNT THAT INSANE??

Also first offenders for Domestic Violence have to take classes and anger management for up to 6 months sometimes..I believe if the system gave longer prison sentences with no time off for good behavior and while in prison had a set rehabilitation program....things might change.

Jodi..have you went to the Governor's office in person? I am thinking some kind of protest might be in order or just going there to ask questions and DEMAND answers in person might help..I am up for the road trip. Let me know~ Joann

ALEC BALDWIN'S THREATENING MESSAGE TO DAUGHTER

TMZ.com is taking your vote NOW to see if you think that Baldwin's parental rights to his daughter Irelenad should be terminated by his threatening, degrading comments left on her cell phone.  Right now it has alarmed family court Judge who has Banned Baldwin's contact with his daughter until their cout hearing May 4, 2007.

Baldwin's comments are not only  "BAD PARENTING" as reported by the media but clearly showing that his daughter is emotionally abused by his verbal assaults.

Is this enough to terminate Baldwin's parental rights???

Listen to tape and voice your opinion:

    Re: termiantion of parental rights

    Jodi,

I just listened to the tape of Alec Baldwin yelling at his daughter on a cell phone message.  Let's face it, we all get angry.  Maybe Mr. Baldwin believes that his ex-wife has been alienating him from his daughter.  Maybe she has.  But, never, never it is o.k. to threaten your child like that.  He should take a message from the fact that his child is not picking up the phone when he calls.  If he believes that she is being influenced to not have contact with him, then he needs to use patience and kindness towards his daughter, not yelling and berating remarks.  It will be very interesting to see how a star is treated in regards to terminating his parental rights.  Florida lawmakers better watch this case!

I saw you on The O'Reilly Factor,

    Keep up the good work!!
